The History of Rodeo Hills Elementary School
Rodeo Hills Elementary School serves an elementary school population from the communities of Rodeo, Crockett, Port Costa, Tormey, and parts of Hercules. The District started construction on the new site in 2003 after the passage of a local bond and Rodeo Hills opened up in September, 2004. The new school replaced Hillcrest Elementary (1951-2004) as the sole K-5 school in the John Swett Unified School District. Built on the site of the former Garretson Heights School, the school currently houses 750 students with a staff of 25 teachers.
